YYYUP. Most of us Jeep owners know the value of a good locker and will all testify to it's necessity for certain offroad applications. But I also know that my Ram can't go where my Jeep can without some serious damage done. Let's face it- The wheel base can't compare! We've all got valid arguments and good points though. The rest just comes down to PREFERENCE. Is a front locker necessary in a Ram pickup? 9 times out of 10 it's probably not. But if I could afford it, it'd be nice to say I had one!
...That said- if you're gonna do it anyway- I.M.H.O go for the ARB or Ox.

I just ordered this.
http://detroittruetrac.com/DT.htm#

After doing my homework for a few months i decided that this was the best compromise between a stock "clutch pack" limited slip and a locker. A regular locker will drive you nuts on pavement and kill your tire life. The factory limited slip from Dodge works fairly well but in off camber situations it will leave you stranded with no choice but to throttle through tough spots which leads to breakage(i can confirm this). The only options for the Chrysler 9.25 diff is a full locker, Powertrax or detroit automatic locker and the Detroit Truetrac mechanical limited slip. According to people that have the Truetrac it is the best thing since sliced bread. It is a limited slip but comlpetely mechanical. No clutch plates to wear or oil additive like a traditional limited slip. No ratcheting around corners or ridiculous street manners like a locker.

As for the front diff. I have found nothing at all. It is a fairly new oddball from Chrysler and i'm not holding my breath. I will more than likely do a solid axle conversion in a couple of years after this truck turns into strictly a toy rather than a daily driver/toy.

That being said, those who think these Rams are not good for trail vehicles have not tried very hard. I run with the jeeps on a regular basis. I won't be entering any competitions or running the Rubicon but it is more than capable of going most places after a few modifications.

While I agree with you Ce2flaco on the Rams being very capable, but you have the most capable of all the configurations, a RCSB. Anything larger than that and the angles go all to hell.

I do congratulate you on your successful excursions and being able to snap pics as well. Makes for a good show of what the Ram is capable of.
