Physically identical. Difference is in the solenoid pack and the transmission control module (TCM). The swap will bolt right in, identically. Any problems will be electronic control program related between the PCM and TCM. Figure out how to deal with that part and it should be golden.

Not even the solenoid pack. The same until like 07-08. I currently have an 04 4.7 RFE in my 03 5.7.

That's good to hear. I'm looking at a 5-45RFE out of a 03 Durango 4.7 to put in my 05 1500 with a 5.7
