New member.. need help with good old rear end vibes!
It has the 241-D T-case in it.. I noticed it does have play when pushing up/ pulling down on the shaft/yoke. It's not crazy excessive, but I'm thinking more than it should be. I suppose I won't know anything until I rip the case out and rebuild the damn thing. I LOVE Dodge pickups, they are my favorite BY FAR... but this Ram is making me HATE it I tell you guys! It runs like a top! But this problem is an absolute thorn in my paw! I wish I knew what it was before going any further. Id anyone has any other ideas I'm all ears...
Woops sorry I didn't see your reply about the axles.. That is one thing I considered, but the thing is a bent axle would be a steady increase in not only frequency, it would slowly increase in intensity as well. Good thought, but no I do not think that is my problem...
This is the thing, I have been working on cars for the better part of 3 decades. Even professionally at times. Not only that, I am very good at being a diagnostition! But THIS damn truck, has thrown me for one HELL of a loop!!!!! I really appreciate everyone's help! Keep it comin

Oh and to be clear, I'm talking about play AT THE T-case, not the pinion. The pinion had play, but like I said I rebuilt all the bearings in the rear end last week. So it took all that play out. Which as I said made the vibes less intense, but did ZERO to cure the problem! But out of everything i did, that was the ONLY thing that changed the vibes AT ALL! So it has to be either the bad T-case bearing, or the slip yoke or rear flange.. I HOPE..
