Gauge needles.
2003 Ram 2500 Cummins 4x4. 2 days ago I had some spare time and new LED gauge lights. I pulled the cluster out swapped the bulbs with no change. Only half the bulbs are working. I pulled the cluster apart to make sure nothing was obstructing the lights pathway. I reinstalled the needles and now they are not right. I have read many forums indicating to just press the odo/trip down and turn key to on. This process has been done twice and doesn't seem to work. Any tips or suggestions.......
For the LEDs, are these the kind you solder onto a circuit board, or put into a base? If so, you may be able to fix by switching polarity.
For the gauges, did you note what the old needles were indicating when truck is off? You should move the new needles to the same position when you install them. Some needles sit right at zero (or lowest mark) when powered down, others sit well past zero.

The needles rest at 0. I am curious if I pushed them down too far causing them to stick and not allowing the recalibration to take effect.
I can't help but to wonder, if people change the original gauge display and needles without difficulty. Why do other people tell me to buy a new cluster?
The LEDs are mounted in a plastic base and twist in place with a screwdriver much like the OEM 194 type.

Coming to the party late on this "dash display" thread. I just acquired a 2005 Dodge RAM and half of the display lights are out. Are there any Youtube videos to watch on how to replace them, or just suggestions in general on how to go about it ?
