Default 4.7 non HO replace with 4.7 HO

Hi all

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 4.7L engine.
I'm looking at rebuilt engines and was thinking about replacing it with the HO version.
Is it possible with current ECU in the car?

It will run it as long as the harness attaches correctly; it will run it better with a custom tune. What you need to verify is crank tone wheel tooth count. If it doesn't match the engine that came out of your truck then it won't run it, unless you swap tone wheels, which requires engine disassembly. Better off getting the correct year range engine, then putting the HO cams in with an 08+ intake manifold. Will get you the power boost you're looking for (with a tune to match) without giving your electronics fits.
