POP noise, front end issues
2003 Dodge Ram 1500 v8 5.7 128 k miles 2 wheel drive. When turning sharp to pull out or back up there is a intermittent pop noise. Steering is tight and smooth with no road drift. Recently had rack and pinion and inner tie rods replaced for other problem and a left hub and bearing. After Les Schwab tech who is a former Dodge tech finished work he said front end components all tight and no play in right bearing which was replace 3 years ago.. No noise noticed when going over bumps. Will be making 1200 mile trip shortly and am concerned if this is just a annoyance noise or something more serious that needs immediate attention. Any thoughts or suggestions most welcome. Thanks
Took back in today. Tech checked for play in tie rods, upper and lower ball joints, drive shaft u- joints and found no play , movement and everything tight in front end. Of course could not get it to make pop noise for tech while there. Drove 50 miles home and first parking spot I backed out of which I had to turn wheel sharp it made the pop noise. Figures. Hope safe to drive home 1100 miles. Don’t know what else to check or what is causing the intermittent pop noise.
I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4x2 pickup. I get a single loud pop noise intermittently when turning steering wheel sharp right when pulling out of a parking space. Only time I hear it. Have had upper and lower ball joints replaced. Also rack and pinion with new inner tie rods.Upper control arms. Have taken it to several shops and they all say front end is rock solid and they can’t locate cause of pop. Of course they have a hard time duplicating the pop noise. Truck has 131000 miles on it. About to pull my hair out over this one. I have to drive a 1000 mile trip in near future and want to make sure the truck is safe. Any help or suggestions most welcomed. Also front driver hub and wheel bearing replaced and a couple years ago the passenger side. Shocks are about a year and a half old.

Did you get your tires rotated lately?... I had a similar issue coming from the front driver side, I switched the tires back again, front to back and back to front and problem is gone... Read somewhere it has something to do with the rim/cover (!?)... Whatever it was it's gone now...
