My dodge ram has a code P0442 which is for a small EVAP leak. I have checked all lines and connections and cannot find any cracks or loose/broken connections. The gas cap is relatively new and seals tight. The purge solenoid as well as the leak detection pump have been replaced. This code still persists.
Is there anything I have missed? Would it be worthwhile at this point to give up and take it to a dealer and have them do a more thorough diagnosis with a diagnostic machine or smoke test? Should I be questioning the purge solenoid or detection pump if each are only a year old? Knowing this system is emissions related I would normally not worry about it but it throws a code and will fail emissions testing.
