Default Chirp noise coming from blower motor

Hi all. I’ve been trying to figure out what’s causing this really annoying chirping noise that’s coming from the hvac blower motor. It seems to happen when it wants to. There really doesn’t seem to be a specific trigger. Sometimes it’s there and sometimes it’s not. While trying to figure it out in my own I removed the assembly from under the dash and added power to it to see if it would do it. It didn’t. Now that doesn’t mean that it’s not the motor itself because like I said it doesn’t always do it. While it was out I looked up and couldn’t see any debris but this particular sound leads me to believe something is rubbing and not debris related. Anyway just hoping someone knows what this is as it seems like a lot of people on the internet have asked about it, but I couldn’t find any straight answers. Thanks for any help.

The oil lite bushings are surrounded with a wick saturated with oil as time moves forward the wick drys out. Intermittent squealing is the first sign of trouble next the armature seizes to the bushing.

Remove the motor again and lube the wick, you probably wont see the wick just the bronze coloured bushing. You want the oil to run down the outside of that bushing.

Cloths dryers are notorious for motor failures as lint gather around the motor oil gets sucked from the bushing and the felt wick.

Oil makes the world go round.

Thank you very much for that. When I was repairing my blend door I looked at the blower motor and did not see any keeper or spring flap to apply lube. What type of lube would you use for this one and thank you Sir.

Use a light weight oil like 3 in 1, you want it to soak into the sintered bronze bushing and wet the felt. The front bushing is easy to lube as its exposed the rear will probably be covered over with the metal case.

Some small electric motor ear covers have a bubble or bulge over the bushing, Your motor is probably made not to come apart so drill a small hole 1/8" or smaller dead centre to add the lube.

If you can get your hands on a syringe to inject the oil that would be of great help. I get mine from the Veterinary.
