Valve lash adjusters....
Hi folks, When my truck starts in the morning from cold, the valve lash adjusters rattle away for several seconds then quieten down. I change my oil and filter on a regular basis, using semi-synthetic. Truck runs great. She has just turned 94,000 miles. Should add she is a 2003, 4.7 Magnum, auto. So question is, I take it that the oil additives are a waste of time and I would be better swapping out the 16 hydraulic lifters ? Do i stick with Mopar parts, or is there reliable good quality after market parts available ?
Bearing in mind I am in Scotland, UK. I usually use Rockauto as there delivery shipping overseas is really good. All advice most welcome. Thanks in advance. Alan...

I have had good luck with parts on rockauto. For your situation i would say deal with the noise. The lash adjusters bleed off and take a few seconds or minutes to pump up with oil and become quiet. If it really bothers you i would recommend an additive that goes into the oil to clean. I personaly use marvel mystery oil about 500 miles before my next oil change and it works wonders at keep the engine clean. Only other suggestion is try diffrent weight oils.
