I have an 01 2500 Quad cab Diesel and I'm looking to go to an 06 3500 Dually. I love my truck but the 01 QC is small in the back. How much bigger is the gen 3 QC than mine. I know the rear doors are larger than those on my 01 but I have een told that the rear seat and legroom still don't quite compare to the crew cab offerings from Ford and Chevy.

Any input here?

Its more leg room then your 01 has, but the chevy and ford crew cabs have more room....Now if you go with a mega cab you will have more room then the ford and chevy.....

 

The chevy and furd crew cabs may have a little more room but their motors wont last half as long as the cummins will. You'll be making the right choice going with the dodge. New interior and suspension ans frame. The chevy gets sh*t for crash test ratings.
If you don't go for the dodge, I'd go for the furd as 2nd and chevy as last resort.

 

I hear you on the mega cab but I want an 8 foot bed dually and the mega is only coming with the 6.25' bed. I also went with the cummins 5 years ago because of the simpliity and reliability of the drivetrain over the competitors.

I am a bit concerned with the Getrag ove the NV5600 I have in my '01. Seems to be a lot of scepticism with the new manual tranny.

Why do the big 3 make it so difficult to buy something from them?
