Default winter question?

i just bought my new truck on monday its a 2004 1500 shortbed 5.7 Hemi 4x2 and since this is my first truck i had a question...what can i do or put in the bed of the truck to make it not slide around and give me a little more traction and how much weight if i should put weight in it, the winters here are horrible. Thanks in advance.

Go to Lowes, or Home Depot, or Menards, and get 5-600 lbs of sand in tubes (they're 80 lbs ea.). Place them at the front of the bed. The price is minimal, they can be used again next year, they don't have salt in them, if you need some traction, pull one out and spread around tires accordingly.

Hope this helps. I have around 800 lbs in mine plus a fiberglass cap. It works great

That's what I did. They're like $2.69 each or something like that. I've got 6 now, probably could use a couple more.
