The front stator input shaft will not turn if in neutral and back tires still on the ground. If completely removed from truck you should be able to put tranny in neutral via the shift arm and turn the outer most smaller stator shaft on the transmission and it should turn but may not be super easy to turn by hand.

Chris thank you for making this important point. The front and rear driveshafts are disengaged from the axles and the rear one is removed and the output shaft from the xfer case turns by hand with slight resistance. The stator shaft (outter-splined shaft) wont turn or budge in either direction even using locking pliers on it. It may be that the front shaft is in a position preventing it from turning but it should be disengaged via xfer case. I will definitely revisit that before I swap. Thank again!
