Default Auto-mode turn signals, and a spare wire (06-08 RAM)

Hi guys,

I’ve been wondering about something that I haven’t found on my truck (07 RAM 1500 SLT) but is mentioned in the manual: auto-mode turn signal. With other words: if you tap the turn signal switch, the turn signal left or right blinks 3 times.
Now, being from The Netherlands there aren’t many experts on what this car should and shouldn’t have. Knowing Americans are pretty fond of luxury, this would be one thing I’d expect to have on the truck.

Is there a way to turn this option on, or does this model/make just not have this option?

Second: on my drivers side headlamp bolt there is an extra electrical connection mounted on a bracket for future use. Does anyone know what the function of this wire is, or can be? Haven’t found anything in the manual yet.

Thanks in advance!

Goedenmiddag! Push the turn signal lever down to activate the signal and immediately release (don't let it latch), if your vehicle is equipped with that feature, the signal will blink 3 times. If not, it will only blink once and you do not have that option. The extra connector could be for fog lights if yours is not equipped with them.

Goedenavond! (it’s night here)
Well, that sucks. If I put my switch down it only flashes once, guess I don’t have that option then.

I have foglamps that work. Maybe it’s for extra high beam lamps?

Take a picture and post it up. Maybe we can identify it that way.

Yeah, that makes sense. I’ll make it tomorrow since it’s dark already.
Thanks so far!

Quite possibly the connector for the ambient temperature sensor as seen here. Just taking a guess.

Well, got that figured out. That connector I was talking about is from the ambient temp sensor.
thanks for your help!
