Vibration in Dashboard
Hi Guys,
Before I start digging blindly I'm wondering if anyone knows common hot spots for dash vibration on a 2008 Quad Cab. Something is vibrating when my sub hits low frequencies, but it's much more pronounced just from my exhaust when I'm slowly moving through the parking garage at work. It definitely sounds like plastic on plastic somewhere inside the dash, in or around the top center. I've tried pushing here and there when the sound occurs to see if it subsides, but it's tough because it only happens for a second or so then stops. I don't hear any rattles when going over bumps or anything, just the vibration when moving slowly. It's not the rear view mirror, that's the one thing I have been able to grab quick enough when the sound occurs to rule out.
I did recently install an aftermarket Kenwood head unit and other stereo equipment, but the vibration was occurring before that was done. It started after I had a new cherry-bomb muffler installed about 2 years ago or so and the only time it ever occurred was in the parking garage at one exact exhaust frequency. I didn't care that much about an occasional vibration in the work parking garage, but now it's bugging me because I'd prefer my bass to just boom instead of boom and buzz.
Much thanks in advance.
