4.7 Engine swap P to N -Need EGR bypass help!
After 258K, my rod-knocking, head gasket blown, 4.7 Ram 1500 finally gave up with what I think is a broken valve spring or seal, allowing oil to run directly into the #2 cylinder! So I replaced the flex-fuel 2007 engine VIN P with an 2005 VIN N with only 88K on it that runs fantastic sofar! My only issue is the P0400 series engine light because I think the computer is looking for EGR flow (code P0400ish) and the VIN N engine does not have an EGR ports.
I have the old EGR mechanism plugged in electrically, but there are no mechanical connections. Does anyone know how to 'fool' the computer? I was hoping someone had experience with this sensor and I could just cut the wires tell me which ones (of the 5 pins) that I could connect and bypass the issue??? or solder in a resistor or something simple????
I do not have the ability to get the 2005 PCM and I really do not want it, unless someone tells me that is the only option!
I also thought maybe I'd ask the dealer if they could re-flash the PCM for a 2007 VIN N engine?
Appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.
