Shifting Problems
Ok, so I have been having a recurring issue with my 06 1500 4.7L. It started to overheat so I ended up getting the water pump replaced. Then it was having shifting problems. The dodge dealership said it was the TCM. So I got a replacement and they put it in and I am till having shifting problems.
My my truck starts up fine, it starts to run rough at first. Almost feels like it’s gonna shutoff. And throws an O2 sensor check engine light. But if I wait it out and give it a little has it evens out. Starts to idle just fine.
Then while driving, it’s like it’s lost it’s power. It sounds extra loud and doesn’t speed up like it used to.
It it also won’t kick down shift if I mash the gas. It’s like I press the gas and it speeds up but it barely speeds up.
TV cable? Kick down solenoid ? I’ve spent a lot of money trying to get it fixed and it’s just one thing after another.

Maybe. I’ll have to take it back to dealer. They seem to point to everything but the tranny. Is there a test for limp mode? Can I reset it out of limp mode to see if it ones back in?
Well if it feels like its running only in 3rd gear (limp mode), it will default back to it if you reset (disconnect battery). Any autozone etc can run the codes for free and then just look it up. But I dont think any code will say the tranny is blown.
