I didn't realize anyone made a manual hub kit for the 3rd Gens -- who makes them?

No silly pushbuttons or turn switches for me -- I like that little stick in the floor.

There is no doubt that the truck is not a quick off the line in 4 wheel drive than it is when in 2 wheel drive. I had a Mustang GT messing with me when it was raining. Smart a$$ kids yelling and me if I had a Hemi and revving their engine. No one else was around so at the next light I nailed him off the line (in 4 wheel drive) while they spun their rear tires. But I did notice, not as quick off the line. But what is the big deal? That is not what the 4 wheel drive is for. It is for low end pull me out of a hole situations and not go fast situations.

I can also confirm it does not matter what make truck. My 4x4 Ranger did the same thing.

Jmerr. I have a new 06 2500 4X4, auto. If I'm in a straight line, switching to 4X4 works fine. Stop, crank the wheels abit, and it takes half the gas pedal to get it to move. I've owned 4 other 4X4's over the last 20+ years. NOT normal. I'm hoping it just needs to break in and loosen up. They probably will. Yes, 4X4 mode causes drag and odd feeling on turns. That IS normal. Talking half the horsepower to get it to move is not. I thought I was in neutral untill I finally gave it enough to move. Try it on dirt, different situations etc. before you start thinkin something is amiss. Might just be how Dodge implements their 4X4. Play around abit more and report back. I'll do the same!
