k started truck this morning everything fine no lights on dash went and got gas shut it off went to restart it to leave and nothing , i get a lighting bolt and check engine light , so i read some where to turn it to on position and let all lights go out and after a few seconds lighting bolt goes off and the engine light will flash about 8 times and then just stay on , need sum help tp trouble shoot it please ( did the key thing but just get the lines and then will say done no code shows up

 

try pulling codes and small thing like is it securely in Park, maybe try neutral ,, have battery checked,,and check grounds,, you did not state whether it cranked over or is it cranking no start ,, if cranking look at cam an crank sensors,,check fuel pressure if cranking an no start

 

no codes not cranking over at all batt is good and charged to make sure been to neutral and back to park many times, leaning towards starter is gone

 

Might want to get the battery load tested. It can read 12 volts but have a dead cell.
