Default Vin 2 to vin d hemi swap

I’m new to the forum and have a few questions.
first off I own a 2006 ram 1500 5.7 vin 2 mds and have swapped in an 04 vin D non mds.
I have probably bitten off more then I can chew I am no mechanic by any means but I have some pretty good knowledge, so I picked up an 04 motor complete with harness and computer for dirt cheap knowing the difference between the two but I cannot find anyone that has tried the swap , I have swapped every single sensor , heads ,valve covers for coil packs and intake and motor mounts and slammed it in but seeing I cannot find any Research on this swap I thought I’d join and ask here will it work or am I wasting my time

You won't find much because you're swapping basically the same engine (literally only difference between the two in a 1500 is MDS). It will run just fine using your 06 sensors, bolt right to your 545RFE, etc. I'm not sure if you'll get it right away (on start up), but unless you turn it off with a tuner you will eventually get some form of MDS error since the MDS harness isn't plugged in. The PCM will look for that feedback across the bus and will post an error if it doesn't get it. Buy a tuner, turn it off, fire it up and enjoy.

I figured I would need a tuner to shut off the mds so i do not get a CEL.
the only thing I’ve seen is that people say it has to be a vin 2 motor for the swap to work but I didn’t want mds and it was a cheaper delete to swap the 04 motor with swapping every sensor and heads valve cover etc. My old block came up with the famous cylinder five misfire at 378xxxkm. And the body was in to good of shape to just say **** it and scrap it
