I’m aware there are vendors and aftermarket parts. I’ve seen nothing but bad reviews from VIS bumpers. I have a 2006 ram 1500 SLT. I’m just interested in doing front bumper SRT conversion. Anything 2006-2008 SRT seems impossible or some junk aftermarket. Aside from dealer is there a company that makes bolt on bumper? Since I have an SLT do I need sport bumper brackets? I’m basically looking to remove old bumper and install new with factory hardware and no bodywork aside from sanding priming and painting. I’ve been looking for a year on used bumper and some of these people lost their minds asking $3k for a used scratched up bumper. Thank you.

 

Well, firstly the only year OEM SRT bumper that was made were 04-05 (won't fit) and 06 (which will fit 06-08). I have never heard anything good about any aftermarket version, especially the fiberglass ones. If you have the upper body color/lower chrome bumper, yes you will need the sport bumper support to mount the SRT bumper. Keep in mind your body lines will be off (if that bothers you) since the SRT bumper was designed to flow with the rest of the SRT body kit. I'd look through Craigslist, Ebay and car-part.com. Occasionally you get lucky and find something. There are also a couple forums devoted to that truck: https://www.vtcoa.com/forums/ & https://www.srt10forum.com/forums/index.php. Thank you very much. Lastly, I was looking into a scraped SRT. Aside from cladding would rear bumper from 2005 SRT 10 bolt on to 2006 SLT rear bumper rails or is an impact bar or brackets from SRT needed?

 

Rear bumper and cladding from any year (as long as reg cab to reg cab or quad cab to quad cab) will bolt right up. Gonna build a poser truck?
