I just bought my first dodge, a 2004 1500 shortbed with a 4.7 liter. The truck has 33,000 miles on it, my question is can I start using synthetic oil in it now? The oil change sticker in the window does not have what brand of oil or oil weight had been used in the past, any suggestions?

 

I don't see any reason why you can't change to synthetic, it's been done many times by others. I would say the sooner the better.

 

You can switch to synthetic anytime you want, It won't hurt anything but yes the sooner the better. It's a much better oil especially in cold climates and extremly high temps.
