I had my 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab SLT in for a wheel alignment. Tech accidentally pinched metal brake line on passenger side. Because part was discontinued, shop spliced a new piece. There is no guarantee that this will be equivalent to the OEM performance. In 15 years, I have not ever had a problem with my metal brake lines (51K miles). Everything on my truck is Mopar part replacement when needed. How do I go about getting a new OEM like line made? Few shops in the area do this type of work. Yes, I live in small town USA. A picture of the OEM part is shown below from Dodge.
This is where his tool pinched the brake line on passenger side
i'm a fca tech; have lived and worked in the rust belt replacing complete brake line front to rear for years.
I would buy a roll of tubing and form my own lines.
Not sure what the shop did but as long as the repair was done properly it will last as long or longer than the factory line.
if they used steel line, zinc coated or not...spray it with rubberized rocker guard to protect from rust. if they used nickel cupric "hybrid" line it won't rust but must be secured to prevent vibration.

Local Tire Lube and Express...I cannot say for sure how effective their repair was performed. That's the problem. Was it double flared ends? I do not know. I ordered a kit per specs for my truck. Will see if it works. I have no confidence in these types of shops. Hence the reason, i always use certified (reputable shop) or dealership depending on repairs needed.
