Default Weird gremlins, won't always start

I love electrical gremlins. Some times when I try to start by dash and interior lights will flash on and off. I'll have intermittent power to the gage cluster followed by the red light flashing. This goes on for up to a half hour and afterwards everything turns on like normal and the truck starts normally.

I'm guessing this is either a grounding problem after the engine swap, or the TIPM needs some love. Can anyone give me advice before I drop $500 on a new TIPM?

I had a Gremlin once. That little V-8 would make that puppy fly. A big truck with bad brakes took care of it. I'll bet you aren't talking about an AMC car though. I'd definitely check your grounds. The is a big one to the engine, a smaller one to the fender and one or two from the engine block to the firewall. The firewall ones often get left unattached.
