Default 2006 1500 will not go into gear.

I have a 06 1500 5.7 4x4 with no transmission issues until one day jumped in threw it drive (never felt it engage) but being on a slight hill i rolled down and when I went to give it gas.. nothing just revs. Put into N back to drive and nothing. Pulled over and put it into park and heard a loud grinding. After scratching my head for a bit I put it into drive again (no movement) then put it in 4HI, felt a big clunk and I was able to drive, limped it into my garage where I could try and figure it out.

Ran my scanner and a transmission code for low voltage was showing so I cleared it and then my truck magically worked normally again. (Was on flat surface in garage)

A few days later had my truck parked on the hill again and same thing. But this time 4HI made some terrible grinding so I shut it down, called a tow truck and sent it to a transmission shop. Of course everything worked when it was dropped off and they said it was probably because I was a liter low of fluid so they serviced it and sent me on my way.

About a week later (parked on same hill) after driving it a few times prior, same problem. No codes, just revs. Tire is resting on the curb because I don't trust my e-brake.

Sorry for this massive story but im just out of ideas, and want to avoid having it towed again.

Thanks for reading
Mike
