Default 4x4 shifter

Hey there everyone, I have looked around on other forums but couldn’t find a topic related to this. I have recently purchased a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie sport edition. For some reason the bezel around the 4x4 shifter and cannot seem to locate online. I was wanting to see if this is a common placement of the 4x4 shifter and if it is where can I get the bezel?

I’m not familiar with the ‘04 setup, but I can say that is not the factory location for the selector. Plus it appears to be damaged.

Well it is and isn't.....there is supposed to be a bezel in the cubby and the switch is supposed to be off to the left.

The bezel's part number is 56051052AA (with e-shift but no heated seat) but you're gonna play hell trying to find it.

I'd start by calling a dealership to see if anyone in the network nationwide has one laying around, you might get lucky. If not, you'd have to buy the whole center bezel but I actually found a couple that had it without the heated seat switches (which is uncommon).

Guess so-ish. Appears the whole “inside” of the cubby is missing.

Not the same cubby. There is no "inside" where the switch goes.

Good to know. Maybe it was changed out with a 2wd one? Therefore no spot for the selector? My guess anyway.

Most likely, but what kills me is the epic level of ignorance and/or laziness this would require......that bezel is only held in with four screws........

Well, ya can't teach ignorance...or lazy. All you can do is slap 'em around a bit and hope they figure it out.
