2004 Ram 1500 5.7 Intermittent Codes/Lights
Hey guys,
I have a 2004 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. Bought it last year from a guy and it had almost no issues for 219,000 miles. A while back my center console power outlet started literally smoking, and the fuses for all power outlets would bust after a while. We went on a road trip last weekend, and first my AC Compressor started burning and smoking. Had to turn the ac off for the rest of the trip. Next there was a "Lamp Out" light that kept coming on and beeping that drove us nuts. The red lightning bolt light (for the accelerator pedal) came on and I had to reset that. And finally my check engine light came on after braking at 40mph which gave me a P0700 and P0888 code and we were in limp mode for the final 20 mins of the trip. The truck drives perfectly when its cold, but every now and then the transmission codes come back on when braking.
So... Im reaching out to see if anyone might have some insight before I give up and take it into a transmission shop. Thanks guys!
EDIT: This is my first post, so sorry if its in the wrong area. I do have experience in other areas, so will help out anyone else in return! But this feels more like an electrical issue, which Im not familiar with. Thanks again.
