Default Dashboard instrument cluster

My problem is with the dashboard cluster. I will be driving down the road and hit a bump that is when the instrument cluster does a reset sort of and goes back to normal. The headlights stay on as does the radio. The only thing that flickers is the gauges on the dash. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Probably battery grounds or loose wire.
Have you removed the dash bezel for any reason, like to access or install a radio?
Locate your grounds and check each to see if they are clean. If rusty or green, take them off, sandpaper/wire brush them, coat with dielectric grease, and re-install.
How's your battery? Positive and negative lead tight? Is the battery secure to the tray or does it bounce around?

The battery looks like it came off the mayflower and it is not secured. It has an aftermarket radio installed. I bought it from my niece's husband and he said it hasn't been doing this for that long

It could be the battery positive hitting a grounded piece of metal, so get the battery tray locking block if it is missing (check in junk yards).
Have the wiring on the radio checked to make sure all the connections are correct and no unused wire is grounding out.
Make sure the plug into the cluster is fully snapped into place.

I bought the lock block for the battery and replaced the factory terminals with better quality ones. I plan on putting in a backup camera so when that happens I will go thru the radio wiring to make sure there is no lose connections. Also would a body ground from the battery to the drivers fender cause this. Could the computer be trashed. I often notice the low washer light appears in the some what message screen but the washer is at least half full.
