Went Back To Stock Intake, Do I Need to Reset Computer?
In on my ongoing fight of the dreaded aftermarket exhaust drone with my Borla/Mopar, I spent some time in my garage today and took out my Mopar CAI and put the stock instake on my '05 Hemi. It did help a little, the drone knocked down a bit, the RPM range for the drone shrank and of course, that annoying EGR valve tick is gone. Ths wasn't a wonder fix for me, stil need to try the sound dampeners at the dealer and may still end up with an Aero Turbine resonator in front of the Borla muffler at worse case to knock the drone completely out as it still is pretty annoying at 2000RPM.
The big thing now is does my computer need to be reset? It was actually flashed last week when I had my O2 sensor TSB done and the CAI was installed. Should I have it flashed again? I swear that the truck lost some serious sack. I don't really remember gaining much when I installed the CAI in September, it's was more engine roar than anything. Now it's out, I swear my acceleration from standstill was wacked. Computer reset in order?

My droning problem is a little more than a "little sound problem". It's obvious to me that CAI was making the droning condition even worse.
Your computer should automatically adapt to any changes you have made and a pcm can only be flashed when new software is available. Once the pcm has been updated it cannot be done again until a new program becomes available.
