Cool Adding Power/Heated/Turn Signal Mirrors to ST

New here, first post.

My ST has just the basic mirrors, no harness or anything so I am doing it all from scratch. I am junking out my '05 Escape, so I pulled the mirror adjustment switch off of it and managed to get it to drive a pair of Gen II mirrors on the bench-- I did not realize at the time that the Gen II mirrors would not bolt up. I have Gen III aftermarket mirrors arriving tomorrow and will hopefully have them all ready to go by the end of the weekend. I am also planning to use the defogger switch to control the heated mirrors, but ran into a hiccup there-- the switch is for the ground side but the mirrors need 12v+. I found a basic switching relay on the Escape and have managed to use the ground from the defogger switch to activate the relay and thus enable 12v to flow through N.O. contacts.

Has anyone else had a similar adventure? And does anyone know a good place to hook onto the turn signals?

Image below in case anyone in the future decided to try to match the Escape switch with Ram Gen III mirrors.
