Talking New to the Ram life

Hello all, just picked my first ever Dodge truck. Its a 2004 1500 quad cab short bed. 4.7 with a five speed manual tranny. Her body lines are dang near perfect along with her paint. the interior is black and in great condition for her age. new clutch pressure plate and bearing six months ago. she has a new output shaft. bone stock suspension with original rims and tire size. she has 199 on the ticker and needs her front end suspension freshened up as in ball joints tie rods bushings and all the goodies. she has a metal diamond plated tool box and diamond plated bedrail covers. her previous owner ran her hot and parked it. his shop did a fluid change a new thermostat and he drove her back home and she has been sitting for six months. I drove her home with absolutely no issues other that the front end popping upon compression. good oil pressure, good temp and good voltage. she started ticking after a full warmup and a few engines revs. she's ticking not knocking. any who i have a blank canvas and around 6 grand to spend. of course suspension tires rims and gearing are planned but for now that 199 on the odometer makes me raise my eyebrow. So with that being said i am a newb at Dodge ownership. I am here to read and learn. Yes i know what a search button is and i plan on wearing it out.
Thanks, Ole Buck

Leave the drivetrain stock and drive the wheels off it; it'll last forever.
