driveshaft grease fitting
I was changing my oil today on my 2005 2500. I see everywhere where they (Dodge) recommends lubricating the front driveshaft with each oil change. I can't find the grease fitting (even with the diagrams help). I got the front end up (tire) so I could spin the driveshaft....still couldn't find a grease fitting. Any ideas? Anything else I should lubricate while I'm at it?
look in the middle of the doubal cardan joint as you spin the shaft, there will be a VERY tiny nipple in there that you have to use a needle tip style fitting to get to.
yes you do have to be in the right possition to see it. it is there, keep looking.
if I had a pic I would post it but my truck is an 04.5. I'll look around and see if I can find a pic of an 05 with the double cardan with the grease fitting highlighted
