rusted crate engine

i just got this crate engine 4.7 just put it in and everything i come back to it completely rusted how i get it back to the black without painting it

You don't. If it's rusty the paint is long gone.

permatex makes an aerosol rust treatment that goes on clear and converts rust to a black oxide. Try that.

yeah that’s what i was talking about i know the paints gone unless i repaint it but yeah i’ll try that

Wire wheel the rust off and repaint it !
