Warning Lights- Please Help
Hi There-
Just joined today. My father passed away before Thanksgiving and I’ve been driving his 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi. I’m having a problem with some of the warning lights. On two different occasions, the ABS, brake, and airbag lights have come on. It happened once a couple months ago, drove fine for a few months, and then happened again a few days ago. Both times, it only lasted less than 15 minutes and stopped after turning the ignition off and on a couple times.
The weird thing is that the only mechanical issue when this has occurred is that the turn signals have stopped working, but come back on as soon as the warning lights turn off. Is this related to a fuse or something? The owner’s manual is no longer even in the truck, so I have little to go on, not to mention I know nothing about vehicles. I would appreciate any help with this. Thank you so much.

Checking basic battery connections often fixes confusing electrical problems.
First check the battery. Check that connections are clean and tight. Check that grounding points to the body and engine are tight and clean.
Check battery voltage is at least 12.6v static at the terminals. Then check for this same reading with multimeter reading positive from the battery, and negative from a clean metal area on the engine.
Get something like this that reads battery voltage and see if voltage is erratic when you get the symptoms.

Ok, great! Thank you so much. I ordered that from Amazon and will see what it reads. I would like to at least have some idea what’s wrong before taking it to a mechanic, so hopefully it tells me something. Just wanted to make sure it was also nothing dangerous. Thanks again.
