Default Time to pull the engine? 2007 1500 w/mds

I'm getting an intermittent but frequent 0 psi oil pressure on the gauge with the check gauges warning after the engine warms up. First time it happened I was on a road trip and immediately checked the oil level and it was full. After a restart, the oil pressure was back to normal so I pressed on suspecting a faulty sender. I had no more issues for months but now it is more frequent as the engine warms up.

I will be checking the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge this week but occasionally I now get a top-end rattle sounding like valve train that also stops after a restart.

The question is, if I have to pull the engine for a true 0 or low oil pressure condition, what 5.7 will fit? It looks like up to 2009. Do I have any other choices?
