Hvac module or mode door?
Hello everyone. I know the blend door is a common issue to fix, mine is still factory and working as it should. I'm having an issue now where my mode selection doesn't appear to be working right. I read that it could be the mode door, or it could be the hvac module not working properly. When selecting different modes, it feels like its trying to work, but not much air is blowing out of the vents. The fan speed works just fine, I can hear it trying to blow harder on each fan speed. It does sound like it's stuck in recirc though. You know how when you turn the mode to recirc, the fan speed noise gets a little louder. No matter which mode I select, it sounds like it's in recirc, but it tries to blow some (not a lot) of air to the selected mode.
I know, blend door usa. But if it's just the hvac module, that'd save me from tearing the dash out. Any thoughts? All the hvac doors are factory as well as the little motors. I know the time is coming for that project, I guess I'm just trying to prolong that project.

So, I got into mine today and learned a few things.
I had access to an Autel automotive scanner and did a climate control re-calibration. Basically it runs the blend doors through their full range to check for anomalies. It also resets the blend door stepper motor position data points so the computer can get feedback on where the blend door is in relation to full open VS full close. That may help you.
Being familiar with other FCA vehicles, I believe there may be a way to initiate a re-calibration by pushing / holding dash buttons while turning on the ignition.
If I were you, I would try to search for this 'no scanner re-cal' and try that.
I also found that holding the odometer trip button while turning on the ignition does the same thing for the dashboard gauges and also displays some code at the end.
I hope this information helps you.
Please return and tell how this information worked for you, what you find, and how you eventually fix your vehicle (even if it is that you brought it to a mechanic / dealership for repair)
It is your feedback and final repair report that will make these forums useful to others in the future.
Many times I search and find the same exact fault that I am having, someone suggests how to fix it, the patron follows the suggestion and then never returns to say yea or nea...
The forum thread just goes dead because the person fixed their fault and has not a care to offer the answer anymore. Please don't be that guy.
Cheers!
