Default p0157 O2 sensor question

I went to autozone today and this is the code they gave me p0157 O2 sensor sensor 2 in bank 2 The guy siad that sensor 1 is closest to the cylinder head before the catalytic converter, while oxygen sensors 2 and 3 are located further downstream and are typically monted in or after the catalytic converter, Bank 1 identifies the location of cylender #1, while bank 2 identifies the cylenders on the opposite bank.

The OEM sensor costs about $45 and $15 deposit for the tool. They said I just need to figure out which one to replace.

Has anybody done this themselves? Is there anything special I should do as far as disconnecting the battery or anything?

Also about 10 minutes after I left autozone the light shut off. So does that mean the problem is gone?

You can change it out if it gives you piece of mind, but if it were me, as long as the CEL doesn't come back on, I'd let it go for now.

As far as manuals go, you can get one here

I think I am going to wait until the light comes back on to replace it. The truck drives fine.

Thanks for the link the manual helped.

If and when you decide to change the Oxygen sensor, you do not need anthing other than a open end wrench, not sure what size. You do not have to disconnect anything, but I would have the ignition off. As long as the check engine light is not on, your pocket is better off with you just driving it, and if it appears to be running fine, and you do not have black smoke coming out the exhaust your should be fine.
