i just realized i have another prob on my 03 hemi ram i put it in reverse and turned the wheel and this wierd noise and vibration comes from the rear and it will do it goin foward but only when turning but it wont do it every time and some times it will even make a clank! noise but i cant tell if its comeing from the wheels or the rear end all i can think of is changeing the fluid in the rear end and go from there

anyone have any ideas?

 

check your transmission mount and u-joints

 

Does it vibrate while sitting still in reverse?

 

Are you thinking engine mounts Beast?or maybe rear diff rotation under load?

 

I was thinking it could be exhaust if it happens while sitting still, or a weak mount somewhere.

 

Good point,I always look at the hard stuff first,If the exhaust slipped out of a hanger it would make a racket!

 

i finaly had a chance to look and this is what i found that was making the noise

what i dont know is did this happen cuz we where rough on it or has dodge had a problem with the rear ends?

They've had a few problems with the C-clips letting go on the LSD and getting chewed to pieces in the rear end.

 

hehe looks like the rear end on my wrangler. I was going to say it could be the spare tire. i had that problem the bugger was alittle loose and had to tighten it. either that or some dumb *** tryed stealing it and couldnt figure it out.

 

well i was also wondering does anyone make an aftermarket lsd for the rams or ami just goin to have to go with oem?
