05 4.7 Quad Cab Exhaust Vibration
Can anyone please comment on an experience with this problem. While in gear and releasing the brake, there is a vibration which seems to be in the exhaust system. If the a/c is on, it is worse. Dealer and factory rep report that this is "acceptable engine resonance" I don't buy it. At this time they say there is no fix. Looks like it will have to go to arbitration.
I got NO help from the dealer on this one. I even requested that the area DM drive it. Was told it was normal exhaust resonance. Sure! Never met the person by the way. What is normal anyway? Did some research and complained to Daimler Chrysler. Still no results. I found a TSB on the web for an exhaust vibration damper. I ordered it and installed it. The TSB described my problem exactly. Vibration at idle or while in gear at idle. After installing the damper on the crossover pipe as instructed, the vibration immediately went away. This bulletin was listed for the 5.7 engine only. Thats probably why the dealer didn't mention it. Sometimes you have to think out of the box and try a different approach. I am thinking of my approach to the service manager. Should I tell him it has been fixed? Or should I tear him a new one?

I have a 06 2500 Hemi 4x4 QC short bed and have a one second vibration when I accelerate and hit 1200 RPM. I cant' pin point where it is coming from. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet, but have crawled underneath and can't find anything loose. Can you give me some websites or info to help me out? Thanks.
