Pretty thin on pictures, sorry. Didn't do this project as a guide so uh.. apologies.
First step is to get two clock springs. One is the "donor", one is the host. Disassemble both clocksprings. On the donor clockspring separate the ribbon cable from the connections. There's ten total traces on this ribbon. Gang 5 traces together for the positive feed, and 5 together for the negative feed. Solder onto each of the ganged sides a length of wire that you'll extend outside the housing. Do this for both ends of the donor clockspring ribbon.
Don't touch anything on the host clockspring. Wind the two ribbon cables together and find the best place to dump your new leads out of the clockspring housing. In my case it was in the center bore and the outside edge.
Remove steering wheel
Install redline goods kit with the heating element.
Install heating element control stuff..
and reinstall wheel
My wheel looks wrinkly, it's really not. The hard light of the flash exaggerates things.
The kit comes with a control **** that has like 5 heat settings. Turns out if you pop out the metal guts to the top cigarette lighter port it fits perfectly.
