03 Dodge misfire?

Dodge 2500 5.7 has about 160k I have been having stuttering/accelerating problems for the last couple months. Feels like bad gas
comes and goes

Have replaced
spark plugs
2 O2 sensors
pvc valve I think that's the name

Throttle body
Accelerator pedal cable and sensor

Still acting up

Codes is PO132
then
Misfire
Catalyst
Evaporative

I have no clue where to go from here

Could it be catalytic converter?
Maybe we bougot bad O2 sensors?

Appreciate any guidance

love this truck it's been dependable and haven't spent a lot of $ until recently

HeyYou 04-27-2024 01:55 PM

What brand O2 sensors? Were you getting that code before you replaced them? What plugs did you install?

03 dodge misfire

I've been reading through several pages trying to gather information

We bought O2 sensors aftermarket don't remember brand
I'll try to look for receipts
We replaced plugs with iridium?
I have noticed copper is recommended
The reason replaced plugs was because the truck was just starting to act up

HeyYou 04-27-2024 04:10 PM

The iridium plugs may have made the problem worse, not better. :D It's a real crap shoot with the rare earth fellers, some folks have nothing but problems with them, others have no problems at all. Running plain jane coppers is a troubleshooting step in this case.

Going to try the instructions for calibration of pedal

Maybe ground Throttle body

We had no codes till after spark plugs installed about a 6 weeks later is when problem really started

Then I guess replace spark plugs

Yup as @HeyYou said these trucks hate anything other than copper plugs. Those aftermarket sensors are also not good to use, as the OEM ones are the best way to go or at least a very highly rated brand.

freberd 04-27-2024 05:33 PM

We could never get the O2 code to reset after replacing sensors
Ill check with dealer

Are there only 2 sensors?
I thought I read someone mentioned another

Thanks for the help

freberd 04-28-2024 10:50 PM

We recalibrate as we have read in this forum
using Throttle
engine light blinked while moving pedal

Switched out spark plugs for copper ones

still sounds horrible worse in park
RPMs jumping all over the place
above 35 mph not to bad

I guess tomorrow will order Mopar O2 sensors to replace the aftermarket ones we bought

any other suggestions?

freberd 04-29-2024 11:29 AM

In park it runs rough but in gear it sounds better
that should be a clue to help solve problem

Any ideas?

freberd 04-29-2024 02:31 PM

Called dealer to order O2 sensors
they have our Vin # saying we should have 4 o2 sensors
We only have 2 have only 2

Dodge ordered them $360
lets hope the code goes out when we put them in

Still need ideas why not running correctly
