Thought I'd leave an update on this. The motor's been running fine, no surging, no codes or lights. The fuel mileage, according to the overhead display, might have gone down by at most one mpg.

With the trucks it's worthless except for long distance highway driving unloaded. It makes a much bigger difference in the lighter cars.
