Default Tuck won’t move in any gear

Just got a 2006 3rd gen Cummins and once in gear it won’t move I rev it and nothing happens. It’s also getting a service 4x4 code. What do you think is happening.

You bought a truck that won't move? Transmission is probably toast.

It could be but i don’t think so. Before the truck sat it had tranny work and the guy drove it then put it away. I got the truck for a good deal and have priced out a new tranny into the cost. I’m not afraid of this but just want to try and find out what’s wrong.

it throwing service 4x4 codes and won’t go into 4x4

If its an electronic transfer case and service 4x4 I would suspect the shift motor is trashed and its in neutral in the transfer case. Pull the fault codes and see what the issue is, short term fix/check you can pull the shift motor and shift the case into 2wd with a pliers. Make sure the truck is chocked and shutoff.

Automatic or Manual?
