Hello! I am in search for someone who has installed an aftermarket radio in their 3rd gen. I have an 06 slt diesel. I got an aftermarket radio awhile back from crutchfield, works great. Except for one thing. I don’t like how I have to pull the key to shut the radio off, as well as open the door. I want to be able for the radio to still run with the key OFF, and when I open the drivers door, the radio shuts down. Has anyone done their radio like this? I have real other forms where you can tap power from the cig lighter, however I don’t like that the radio won’t stay powered on with the key off, I want it to stay on until I open the door. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

you have to get the expensive wire harness that has special data feed and steering wheel controls even if your steering wheel doesnt have em.I think its like $55 at Walmart
