2006 quad cab - pulsing pressure sound w/ window down
I just got a new 1500 quad cab and couldn't be happier. The only strange thing I've noticed is a strange pulsing pressure/sound when either or both of the rear windows are rolled down. If I'm going around 50mph and drop the window(s), I can hear and feel a pulsing sound that is probably at a rate of 2-3 times a second. It's very constant and disappears as I get to slower speeds. I'm thinking it is a wind pulse/cab pressurization thing, due to the aerodynamics of the truck. Has anyone else noticed this or have any ideas as to what it may be? Thanks.

umm pretty much any 4 door vehicle will do that if you only put the rear windows down and drive over 50mph, at least every car ive ever in and someone cracked the rear window on the highway. Put a rear down and crack a front and you dont have the noise.

It's called wind buffetting, and can be fixed by changing one of the following variables:
- Roll rear window(s) up slightly
- Roll front window(s) down slightly
- Reduce/increase speed
- Drive in space, where there is no atmosphere
Every vehicle is susceptible to the effects of wind buffetting.

Thanks for your guys' input. I was hoping that it was just the wind. If I get a chance to try the no atmosphere thing, I'll let you know how it goes. I'll bet the truck would fly due to the lack of gravity and wind drag, but I'm pretty sure the O2 sensor alone would cause the vehicle to not run at all.
