I am still having some issues with noise coming from the front suspension and from the sound and "feel" in the footwell it seems like it is coming from the sway bar bushings.
I ordered new ones a while back but the noise seems to be coming back after about 1000miles.
Now I wanted to buy some Energy Suspension ones, with groves to keep the grease in. Last time I ordered I measured the sway bar diameter. Wasn't too easy with all the rust. But I was confident that the diameter is 34mm.
So I ordered 34mm ones (Mevotech).
Now I checked for the Energy Suspension ones and they advise me to get 36mm ones.
The car is a 2004 RAM 1500 5,7 HEMI 4x4 Laramie. It says that the 2WD ones are 34mm and the 4WD ones are 36mm?!
Does anyone has more info on this?

4x4 has a fatter sway bar, more weight in the front.

 

Cheers man, I ordered 34 and 36mm bushings, polyurethane made from Energy Suspension.
Even though it is a 4x4 only the 34mm bushings are fitting. I measured the sway bar again, and I got about 33.8 - 34.2mm.
So maybe RAM 2500 have thicker sway bars?!

 

On my 02 1500 sport 4.7 2 week drive, it came with a 39 mm sway bar. 👍. To find bushings for it, I’ve had to order them for a 05 3500 HD 4WD. They aren’t listed anywhere else.
