I have a 2008 ram 1500 SLT with the 4wd auto transfer case. When I first bought it, it was stuck in 4wd low with no power to the front wheels but the diff lock engaged. I’ve swapped out the t-case shift motor and the hub lock actuator but it still doesn’t want to disengage. I had to crawl under the truck and manually shift the t-case to the forward position which put me in 4 auto, and now I’m stuck there and it won’t switch out again. That being said I still don’t have any power to the front wheels and it won’t shift into 2wd. On the bright side my front diff disengaged so I’m not skipping around corners.

Is my transfer case busted?
I’ve talked to the guys at my local dodge dealership and found out it’s a chain driven t-case. The best idea I could come up with is the chain broke which would explain why I don’t have power.

is there any significant differences with the 4 auto transfer case? As I've been looking at rebuild kits
