Default Average MPG question

Is there a way to have your overhead console switch from average to instant fuel economy. I tried to do a search but it wouldn't work for me. Thanks in advance for any answers

sure...you can just press the reset button on the mpg option and see what you are getting at that instant....PITA but it works.

I do this sometimes if im on my way to my house upstate and get out of the city and onto the thruway....then i reset the switch so i get an acurate readout of highway cruising.

All you can do is what has been stated. Keep pressing the reset button. I really don't bother with it and just leave it and reset every tank full. It is usually fairly accurate to 0.5mpg. I've been getting from 12.5-13.5 in town lately. I try not to get the revs up more than 2200rpm's and try to stay in OD as long as possible and also use my cruise control whenever possible.
