Default OBD connection is loose

OBD
I bought a TopDon Topscan. The problem I'm having the dongle wont stay in the OBD connector. It's to lose and I have to keep moving it around. Anyone have any ideas how to secure it?

Take a photo of the connection and of the plug on the reader. I've seen OBD II connector loose on the dash but I've never seen one tht the connector didn't want to stay in. Is there an adapter you're missing? I've seen readers that will read numerous systems besides the standard OBD II. These are generally fairly deluxe models. The basic reader has always been fairly snug.

Hey there, it's just the standard fitting. My old scanner would fit but I had to move it around and if I drove with it connected it would fall out if I hit a bump. I guess I'll have place a thin piece of cardboard on the side of it.

I guess I have a suspicious mind but check under the dash and make sure the OBD port is the original factory one. Look to see if the factory one is tucked up under the dash and an electronic doohickey is plugged into it and mounted in the under dash mount. My '04 Expedition had one there when I got it. It was some sort of tracking device.
