Best Exhaust for the HEMI????
ORIGINAL: HEMI_OFF_ROAD
I. Some sytems (CORSA, magnaflow and borla) may be nicer but are wayyyyyyy too expensive for an exhaust. I have seen prices up to 800-900 dollars for some. Thats more than 3x the cost of the aluminized gibson. Well, enough of my soapbox. Whatever you choose I am sure it will be good. If you go with flowmast read up. I have seen too many bad reviews on the flowmaster (this is not to get flowmaster users mad, I am sure there are happy flowmaster users). There is an actual flowmaster made specifically for the hemi, the 50 series hd. You will find that the hemi requires a larger muffler than many of the other flowmaster models.

YES...and the reason is because aluminized is junk..sorry to say it. That will rust over within a year or two at most.
I may have spent alot on my Corsa but its very very good quality stainless steel all throughout...and the tips still polish up to a MIRROR finish every single time. flowmaster and gibson dull very quickly. I paid the money 1 time...my exhaust will last the life of my truck and has a very distinctive tone rather than just a rumble like flowmaster.
To each his own..but the borla and corsa are worth the money because they are TOP NOTCH!!
ive got duel flowmaster 40 series running threw a x-pipe then strait out the back. ill post a sound clip when i go outside next. its not to loud but does sound mean, and beefy. ran me about $400 with out tips.
i have a true dual set up with a h pipe, 2 50 hd flowmasters 4" in 4" out it sounds great but i also have long tube headers.
i think mine sounds much better than CORSA, magnaflow or borla but that is just my $.02. Don't let people tell you aluminized is junk it's not true, that is how trucks come from the factory and that's good enuff for them. and besides if you muffler is stainless what good is it doing you under your bed? You would have to get on you back to see it. Save your $$$ get a flow and buy some headers, this will give you more hp/ tq and it will sound good too.

yes...and i changed out my factory exhaust after only 8 months of ownership...and the exhaust was all rusted over...
has nothing to do with aesthetics.....longevity!!!!
alumized IS junk so of course i am going to say it......most factory exhausts on vehicles have to be replaced every 60-70k miles anyhow...unless you have an expensive car with stainless steel parts already....(my M3 has a full stainless exhaust....but my WRX didnt and neither do hondas, acuras, nissans, toyotas, dodge, etc)
SO....spending the money on a stainless system isnt just for looks....its because it will last 100-200-300k miles or as long as you own your vehicle.

Why would anyone put 4" pipe on a small block V8? I used a 40 series Flowmaster, 3" single out on my Hemi, and lost low end. Not dramatic, but it definitely lost a bit. I can't imagine the low end loss with a 4". I think Magnaflow has a table on their website with pipe diameter recommendations. 4" pipe is for big blocks, diesels, etc.
i used a step up to go from 3" to 4" i plan on getting a supercharger in the future so i need the larger pipes.

I'd get rid of the stock catalytic converters too, especially with all the mods you have. You can have 4" pipe, headers, CAI, etc, but if your converters are restriced, it makes everything else restricted.
