2004 Dodge 3500 battery drain issue
My batteries test 12.43 in the morning and when starting in the morning, the volt meter sits below center for 5 min or more before before going to a meter over the center line. After a few starts the volt meter starts charging right away all day and night. I can't find out why the batteries are dropping over night. I pulled a battery out and it holds charge at 12.84 on it's own sitting around and the other battery is new. Yesterday the truck went dead,no power to dash or ignition, put a battery booster on and got nothing, then by the time I moved the jumper to the other battery the power came back and began running ok again and charging, truck has been running ok other than the undercharging in the morning.
I started pulling wire connections and clean them up,I pulled the socket off the ABS control Module,2 pins are either rotted or shorted out,the socket pin holes are rusted after cleaning and I can't see in ABS socket, but took a pic and see the pins are gone. It's pins 7 and 14,both fused on the same wire rout,no fuses burned out. I can't tell if the pins rotted then if no fuse blew. Gotta follow the wires and see if anything is shorted I guess then get a new ABS Control Module. I'm wondering if I put some jumper pins in or solder on new pins if that will restore it use though, just don't want to pull it and have to bleed the whole break system to find out this one is blown and then do it agin witha new ABS Module.Anyone know what might have caused a short on pins 7 and 14.
